Another incredible week of fishing. Weather took a turn and we got 2 days of wind and plummeting temperatures and it snowed most of Wednesday (nothing stuck), and temps started to climb back to normal yesterday. It was 31 degrees at 6:30am, and 61 at 10:30am. The next week is expected to be in the normal range meaning in the low 70's and it has been that most of the week with zero precipitation. Long range weather prediction according to the local Paiutes is there are an abundance of pinion nuts, meaning plenty to store for the winter because they will be needed for the long harsh winter. DFG stocked 500lbs and we did our thing, and the Troutzillas are showing up on the board from both Big Virginia and Little Virginia. Loads of fish coming out even with the decrease in anglers.

Saturday 9.11, a sad day in the history of America, the fishing actually slowed down and anglers had to work for them. Catching was still on, but not at the previous rate, but I did see some nice stringers later in the afternoon for those that persevered. Hopefully it will cool down.

Weather for the week:
Sunday: Clear skies but breezy am.
Monday: Breezy and mostly clear.
Tuesday: Wind some high clouds.
Wednesday: Wind and snow.
Thursday: Clear and cold.
Friday: Clear and cold finally warming.
Saturday: 41 at 6:30am and clear, and aspens are just starting to turn to yellow in patches up the road.

Lures for the week: Red/Gold Buoyants, gold Kastmasters, Gold Hot Shots with red stripe, and Yellow Panther Martins with red dots.

Bait for the week: Red Power Worms, Chartreuse powerbait, rainbow powerbait, and salmon peach powerbait were on the appetizer list, with crawlers doing the main job. Flies for the tippet stretchers and bubble bashers Olive crystal wooly buggers, Red Throated Matukas, rust Twin Lakes Special, Adams female, Griffith's Gnats was the hottest, naked Grey Hackle Yellow, naked Caddis.

Incredible week of fishing but the catching was even better. Weather was terrific, no wind, and temps climbed back to more than normal. The next week is expected to be in the normal range meaning in the low 70's and it has been that most of the week with zero precipitation. Some cloud cover moved in for a couple days, just the fluffy marshmallow type giving the fish a bit of security while providing the angler a...... Read More

The week was fairly productive due to another change in air temperature which signaled a change in behavior. Evenings temps were on the rise, but have now started to drop again into the low 40's and may hit the high 30's by early next week. Cloud cover moved in today along with the wind which cleared the parking lot of anglers and only the hardest took fish. DFG did their thing, and so did we, still doing...... Read More
