Incredible week of fishing but the catching was even better. Weather was terrific, no wind, and temps climbed back to more than normal. The next week is expected to be in the normal range meaning in the low 70's and it has been that most of the week with zero precipitation. Some cloud cover moved in for a couple days, just the fluffy marshmallow type giving the fish a bit of security while providing the angler a huge advantage. Cooling should start around Sunday.

DFG stocked 500lbs and we also did it, both on a weekly basis, but the hawgs are finally showing up on the board. But some folks seem pretty happy as we got more fish this week than any week during this summer. BFEF (Bridgeport Fish Enhancement Foundation) stocked 400 lbs. of rainbows on Thursday up to 1  ? lbs, it was a nice surprise.

Lures for the week: Red/Gold and Gold Buoyants, black buoyant, gold Kastmasters, Gold Hot Shots with red stripe, and Super Dupers.

Bait for the week: Marshmallows with an egg and a pinch of power bait (Christmas Tree) Crawlers (big and little), Chartreuse/red Power Worms, Chartreuse powerbait, rainbow powerbait, and salmon peach powerbait were on the menu with grasshoppers as dessert.

Flies for the fly rodders: Olive crystal wooly buggers, purple wooly buggers, Red Throated Matukas, custom tied jobbies in olive and black, rust Twin Lakes Special, Adams female, Griffith's Gnats, naked Grey Hackle Yellow, Black ants, Black gnats, and a BH soft hackle/orange or yellow, naked Caddis.

The week was fairly productive due to another change in air temperature which signaled a change in behavior. Evenings temps were on the rise, but have now started to drop again into the low 40's and may hit the high 30's by early next week. Cloud cover moved in today along with the wind which cleared the parking lot of anglers and only the hardest took fish. DFG did their thing, and so did we, still doing...... Read More

The week was on the slow side due to the change in air temperature which triggered a change in the bite. Evenings were dropping down into the low 40's and even dipped one night into the 30's. But that is supposed to change by early in the week. Cloud cover moved in today lifting the moratorium on the bite, and lots of limits were coming out on night crawlers, power worms and lures. Lures for the...... Read More
