The Lake level is about 2 feet below spill, EBMUD is generating presently so Lake level will drop about 6 inches a day. Current water temperatures are up a little from last report, 69 degrees at 20 feet and 74 at surface; look for these temps to cool a little over the weekend. Water clarity is good to 16 feet. Most bank anglers are concentrated around Rainbow Point this morning. The Marina reports they are catching some good size Rainbow planters using white power worms. Sounds like the planters are moving out of the Rec area soon after the plant due to the warm water conditions, so try behind the Ebay boathouse, the "mud hole lagoon", Porcupine point, the Launch ramp and Tom Sawyer Island if Rainbow Point is too congested. Power worms and green power bait are also effective, with wooly boogers and silver/blue Kastmasters good right after the plant.

Lots of Trollers are working River Mouth and the face of the Dam. Kokanee limits are quick and mostly in the 8 to 12" range. Other Trollers are fishing the River starting at the Mouth and going up as far as Indian Rock. Try the River arm and near Twin Coves for Kokes. Derby pre-fishers are keeping depths and lures to themselves but try 20 to 40 feet with a small spoon or needlefish type lures in pink or florescent orange/red tipped with a night crawler, grub or power worm behind small flashers, dodgers or sidekicks in silver/green that all seem to work well. Kokanee still prefer scented white corn. Did see a few boaters working the barrel line in the South end but don't know how they were doing.

Lots of catfish in the 5 to 15 lb range taken from southern coves lately. Chicken liver, anchovies and night crawlers are their favorite snacks. Pardee Lake Team Kokanee Derby sponsored by Kokanee Power is scheduled for this Saturday August 28th see their website www.kokaneepower.org for details and entry forms. California Department of Fish and Game has planted 3000 lbs of fish in addition. Pardee Lake Inc. has planted 46,000 lbs of trout as of today with more plants scheduled.
