An earthquake has occurred with a magnitude such that a tsunami will not be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.
Preliminary Earthquake Parameters Magnitude - 4.6 Time - 0819 AKDT Apr 07 2010 - 0919 PDT Apr 07 2010 - 1619 UTC Apr 07 2010 Location - 61.7 North 149.7 West - 20 Miles/32 km NW of Palmer Alaska - 35 Miles/56 km NE of Anchorage Alaska Depth - 29 Miles/47 km The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey - Earthquake.USGS.GOV - or the Appropriate Regional Seismic Network.
