Mammoth Lakes, CA ??? Fishing enthusiasts and their families from around California cast their line and reeled in cash, prizes and big grins this Labor Day Weekend at the 4th Annual Troutstock Eastern Sierra.

The unprecedented Festival of All-Things Trout included the Tagged Trout Competition, the introduction of Troutstock University, the expansion of Kidstock, and the donation of $4,690 to fisheries enhancement and educational programs in the Eastern Sierra. In all, 45 tagged trout were caught in the 10 participating lakes (Mammoth Lakes, Convict Lake and June Lake Loop) by the 469 registered anglers during the three day competition including the presentation of $26,064 in cash and prizes.

The big winners in the men's category, walking away with $1,000 each, were Jason Owens of Apple Valley, who caught his tagged trout at Upper Twin Lake, Bryan Sperkoski of Westlake Village, who reeled in his lucky tagged trout at Silver Lake, and MLFD Captain Robert Williams who landed his 15" trout at Convict Lake. Phyllis Ishisaka from Monterey Park won $1,000 from for her Gull Lake catch, and 10-year-old Andrew Palmer of Huntington Beach won the $1,000 under-15 kids prize by landing a 15" Alpers at Upper Twin Lake.

Cynthia Woolston from Oceanside, CA won the pre-registered anglers random drawing and bagged $2,000 just for registering online before August 22, 2008. Previous Troutstock participant Deb Main from Dayton, NV won the $2,000 Mammoth Lakes luxury fishing vacation.

Kidstock featured prominently at Troutstock and winning the Casting Competition and a Malibu Kayak was 10 ten year old Clayton Vaughan. Second place was Amelia McBride from Mammoth Lakes winning an Outcast Float Tube, and winning a Guide Trip with Big Dave was Sterling Watring.
