Trout plants continue to the tune of 3600 pounds of Mt. Lassen Hatchery rainbows this past week with the plant split evenly between the North Shore Marina, the South Shore Marina and the pond.  Trollers working the Narrows continue to score on some trophy rainbows weighing in excess of six pounds.  Most are being caught on the troll using white grubs with a chartreuse Power Egg or an oranger grub with a white Power Egg on a set back of 120 feet for an estimated depth of 8 feet at the deepest.

The lake is open to camping on Thursday, February 14 with fishing access starting on Friday, February 15 at 5:00 am.  10,000 pounds of rainbow trout will be released into the lake prior to the opening weekend.  Shoreline anglers are expected to line the banks in the “Mud Hole” to Rainbow Point on the opening weekend.  The lake is now at 90 percent capacity. ......
