Water Conditions:
The water level is low, and the weeds are thick.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches:GOOD
Recently people have been catching some fish near the buckeye inlet early in the morning. Fish are moving up into the inlets and anywhere cooler water is coming in. Rainbow and Rocky point is still fishing good in 10-16 feet of water. Damsels, Callibaetis and midges are still coming off strong. Stripping Damsels, and Callibaetis are wise choices .Perch fry are on the menu as well.

Recommended Flies:
MIDGES
#8-12 Blood Midges, #14-18 Frostbite Midges in Red, Black or Brown, #16-18 Palamino Midge, #16-18 Tiger or Zebra Midges and #16 OptiMidge in Gray/Black or Black/Red.
NYMPHS
#14-16 F/B Pheasant Tail, #12 Marabou Damsel, #14-16 Copper John, #14-18 Scuds and #14 Jansen's Callibaetis
STREAMERS
#10 Halebopp Leech, #10-12 Damsel in Distress, #14-10, Hornburgs #12-10 Punk Perch in Olive, #12-10 Matukas, #10-8 B/H Pop's Bugger in Brown or Olive and #4-8, Zonkers in White or Olive.

Guide's Hint:
You will have great fishing if you can find water temps lower than 60 on the bottom.

Water Conditions: The water is warming up quickly. The surface temps are averaging 63 degrees, and the daphnia bloom is starting to happen. The bloom temporarily slows fishing, as the fish feed on the daphnia instead of our midges. The fishing should get really good after the short bloom, as it does every year.
