Side drifting and back bouncing roe has been best technique for bank and boat fishermen. More Fall run salmon and steelhead will begin to show in the Trinity river in the coming weeks as more and more fish enter the Klamath river. The Trinity and Klamath rivers are two of the three rivers in California that anglers can keep salmon this time of year. Most Spring salmon have moved through the lower Klamath river with a decent push of adult steelhead, many half pounder steelhead and a few adult Fall salmon this past week as reported by Klamath river salmon guides. Salmon and steelhead fishing will only improve in the coming days on the Klamath river. This years quota is 22,500 salmon to begin in mid August. The Klamath and Trinity river's will be the only river's besides the Smith river that angler's can keep salmon on this season with the Sacramento river offering a very small season from November 1st to December 31st from Red Bluff diversion dam downstream to Knight's Landing.
