GENERAL CONDITIONS

If the kiosk is closed, please use the yellow Ventek machine to pay for parking (exact change only, please). For fishing permits, you may use either the Ventek machine or the blue iron ranger posts across from the kiosk, from the entrance from the Isherwood Staging Area, and from the walk-through gates by the Sequoia Bridge and from the Niles gate.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes. You can exchange lead tackle at the kiosk in a “1 for 1” trade for stainless steel weights.

Fishing has been good lately here at Quarry Lakes! Both trout and some big CATFISH have been caught lately! Please remember to catch and release bass.

On April 14th Glenn Poole of San Leandro was very proud of the three-pound trout that he caught using mice tails! He was fishing along Fishermen's Row.

On April 15th Jay Japec of San Leandro caught an eight-pound catfish! He was using a white marshmallow and was fishing along Fishermen's Row.

On April 25th and 27th, Wes Anderson of Fremont caught some big trout! One weighed four pounds, 10 ounces and the other weighed seven pounds and one ounce! Wes was using his trademark bait of night crawlers and he was fishing along Fishermen's Row.

On April 26th Bernie Helwig of Milpitas caught his limit of trout in two-and-a-half hours! He said he was using "trout bait" and he was fishing from his boat in the front of Horseshoe Lake. He did so well, he returned the next day, and this time caught his limit in 45 minutes!!

On April 27th and 28th, Ben Kam of Union City caught his limit of trout! He was using Powerbait, lures, and was fishing from the shore of Fishermen's Row.

On April 28th Raj Pradham of Fremont caught a seven-and-a-half-pound trout using a jig!!! Raj was also fishing from Fishermen's Row.

On April 29th Jack Antrim of Hayward caught and released six trout! He was using needlefish and was fishing from his boat in the front of Horseshoe Lake.

On April 30th Anthony Evans of Redwood City caught five trout using Powerbait along Fishermen's Row, and his grandfather, Elliot Diaz of Belmont caught three trout using Kastmasters and Powerbait.
