Warm temperatures with lots sunshine brought the anglers out for crappie, trout and bass this week. Lake water clarity has been getting better every day working its way back up the Narrows but with impending rains foretasted and Lake Pardee still spilling into Lake Camanche this will soon change.

Although it was close EBMUD & Mother Nature managed to hold off Lake Camanche from spilling by a mere 21" or so. This year the highest elevation was recorded by the Department of Water Resources at 4:00 pm was on Friday 2/24 at 233.77' or 97% of capacity. Lake Camanche and the surrounding areas are again experiencing major storms. EBMUD, by managing releases took the lake down somewhat by releasing almost 5,000 C.F.S. in anticipation of the next round of heavy releases from Pardee Lake and normal storm runoff. There is a possibility that Camanche could spill if this storm is as heavy as predicted. As of this report Lake Camanche is 90% full and at 229.68' elevation or 5.82' from the spillway.
