December Steelhead fishing on the Upper Klamath River has been fantastic. Clients, family, friends have been catching and releasing fish all month in the 1 to 7 pound class, the majority have been weighing 2 to 5 pounds.  These hard fighting Steelhead have been a biting mix of bright and dark bait eating plug striking line strippers. Crawdad and Rapala plugs smothered in Procure Gels either backtrolled or casted have been working the best. Night crawlers and Roe (enhanced with ProCure) bounced or bactrolled have also been doing well. Weather has been all over the place but that has not stopped the fish biting so come on up and get in other action, use those Steelhead report cards an licenses before the year is over.
