SACRAMENTO DELTA
The fall striped bass migration is now underway with some Angler's having a 10 fish day on the troll from the Old Dairy up to Decker Island. Most of the fish are dinks with the big fish of the day weighing only 4 pounds. Remember, it is still early in the season and by the time we reach the month of October the fishing season should be much better just in time for the Rio Vista Bass Derby. There are fish in both systems, that meaning the Sacramento and the San Joaquin Rivers. For those who enjoy bait fishing fresh shad is now available at most bait shops. Windy conditions continue to prevail on the Delta which makes it challenging for those on the troll. The best lures continue to be either the shallow or the deep running Yozuri Crystal Minnows or P-Line Predator Minnows in the green or red head / white color patterns.. Over in the south Delta Angler's drifting live bluegills continue to take occasional keeper stripers in the 4 to 6 pound category in Whiskey Slough and out of flooded Mildred Island. Some striper activity reported in Discovery Bay, but this hasn't been verified. Stay tuned for periodic updates. In the Antioch area the public pier continues to kick-out some of the larger striped bass, especially some using live mud suckers.
Due to the windy conditions which have effected the sturgeon fishing there hasn't been anyone venturing out into Suisun Bay or the Cut.
On the salmon fishing scene several fish daily are caught from the mouth of the old Sacramento River up into the Walnut Grove area. Most of the fish are taken early in he day up to 17 pounds on Silvertron Spinners and Mepp's Flying "C's". Up around the Freeport Bridge a few salmon are taken daily jigging P-Line Laser Minnows or Slammer Minnows. Recently the bite has been much slower and spotty.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY
Not much action out on the bay except for a fury of action on halibut in the central bay where Captain Tom Zizzo of the Wild Wave put a dozen of the flat fish on his deck using live live anchovies. Striped bass action slow due to minus tides. The good news is the leopard shark fishing is still off the charts in the South Bay.

OCEAN
Rock fish, lingcod and salmon are keeping most Sausalito party boats busy. Lingcod to 32 pounds along with quality 10 fish limits of rockfish for their clients. One day salmon fishing is off the charts and the next day not much to brag about. But on the good day they bring home 50 salmon to 26 pounds for 61 Angler's while 3 boats from Emeryville scored 37 salmon to 22 pounds for 30 Angler's. Most of the action is coming from south of the shipping channel to Double Point where the weather conditions have been flat calm, which has been very unusual lately.

TAKE TIME TO ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS. CHECK WEATHER CONDITIONS BEFORE VENTURING OUT INTO THE BIG WATERS. UNTIL NEXT TIDE STAY SAFE TO FISH ANOTHER DAY.
