Lower Owens River Update

Walker River Outfitters

Report Date:

http://www.walkerriveroutfitters.com

The lower river continues to be one of the best options in the area. Flows have dropped over the last few days making wading a little easier. The most productive water has been from the wild trout section up to P.V.R. Nymphing under an indicator will get plenty of attention or look for rising fish during the BWO hatch. If you're lucky enough to find cloudy conditions the BWO hatch can be really good. Crowds have been light but you can expect a few more anglers over the weekend with the fishing fair in town. RECOMMENDED FLIES: Juju Midge 18-22, W.D's 18-22, Miracle Nymph 20-22, Surface Emerger 20-22, Juju Baetis 20-22, BTS Nymph 20-22, Barr's BWO Emerger 20-22, Fox's Poopah 16-18, Deep Sparkle Pupa 16-18, Emergent Sparkle Pupa 16-20, CDC Baetis Emerger 20-22, E/C Caddis 16-20, Elk Hair Caddis 16-20, Organza Trico Spinner 20-22, Para Trico 20-22, BWO Sparkle Dun 20-22, Para BWO 20-22, Foam Beetle 16-18, Para Ant 16-20, Para Hopper 12-14.
