WHOPPER ALERT!!!! This HUGE 16.6 largemouth bass was carefully caught and released by Ian Cornelius of Castro Valley. This is by far one of the biggest bass caught here at Lake Chabot in over 10 years.

GENERAL CONDITIONS Trout fishing remains slow here at Lake Chabot. We have been stocking the lake at least once or twice a month from Mt. Lassen. A couple limits were pulled out from the shoreline a couple weeks ago, but overall fishing remains slow. The last plant we received from Mt. FISHING CONDITIONS What a difference the rain did in week! Water level came up about a foot this from last week. Fishing for trout and catfish has shown a lot of improvement. We did receive a trout plant of 1,200 lbs. on December 18th from Mt. Lassen. Catfishing is still doing fairly well, we have had more than a few big catfish get pulled out the last several week.
